The Montessori difference

Learning that follows the child

More than a method, Montessori is a way of seeing children: as capable people who rise to real responsibility when we trust them with it.

  • A prepared environment

Every material in the classroom has a purpose and a place, inviting children to choose meaningful work and concentrate deeply.

  • Mixed-age classrooms

Younger children learn from older peers, and older children grow as leaders, which builds empathy and confidence.

  • Guides, not lecturers

Our trained teachers observe each child closely and offer the right lesson at the right moment, following the child's natural development.

The curriculum

What children learn at Beacon

A Montessori classroom supports the whole child across connected areas of learning.

Practical life

Sensorial

Cultural studies

Geography, science, art, and music that open children's eyes to the wider world.

Grace & courtesy

Everyday social experiences that nurture kindness, respect, and a peaceful classroom community.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Beacon Montessori. Since our son started here, he has become so much more independent and genuinely curious about the world—a direct result of this incredible team. What I appreciate most is the teachers’ mindset. In our conversations, it's clear they are constantly asking themselves how they can make the learning experience even better. Inna, the director, has been exemplary from the very first day we toured. Ms. Minoty is a wonderful primary teacher who has a real gift for kindling curiosity; whether it’s letters or practical life skills, she knows exactly how to motivate kids to try more. Our son also absolutely loves Ms. Caroline’s Spanish lessons, and the after-school programs like karate and chess make for a very well-rounded experience. The sense of community is also fantastic. They do a beautiful job involving families to share traditions like Diwali, Hanukkah, and Chinese New Year. Beacon might not be a 'big name' school, but they make up for it with total dedication and a laser-focus on nurturing kids. If you're looking for a place that prioritizes education, kindness, and caring for one another, we highly recommend starting your journey here.

We feel so grateful to be part of the Beacon Montessori community. The teachers truly focus on so much more than traditional learning, helping our son grow into a kind, empathetic, and thoughtful person. Every day, we see him building confidence, independence, and a genuine sense of care for others. It’s clear how much intention and heart goes into everything they do, and it means so much to know he’s in an environment that values not just what he learns, but who he is becoming.

Beacon was an incredible school for my daughter, the teachers care deeply about each child (and their happiness, well-being, and social-emotional and academic development), and the community of families we found there is amazing. We feel so lucky to have found it!

Inna, the head of Beacon Montessori, is truly exceptional. She is warm, attentive, and deeply caring with the children. From the very beginning, she created an environment where our two children felt safe, supported, and excited to learn. The entire staff is warm, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to the children’s growth and well-being. It is clear that Inna genuinely loves what she does and leads with kindness and intention. We could not have found a better place for our children to grow, and we are incredibly grateful for the care and guidance they received at Beacon Montessori.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

A few of the things families ask most. Have another question? We're happy to help.

What ages does Beacon Montessori serve?

We welcome children from 15 months through 6 years across our Toddler and Primary (preschool & kindergarten) programs.

What kind of school is Beacon Montessori?

Beacon is an independent Montessori school and a licensed early-childhood program serving families in Weston and the surrounding MetroWest communities.

What is Montessori education?

Montessori is a child-centered approach. Children learn at their own pace with hands-on materials and trained teachers who guide rather than lecture, building independence, concentration, and confidence along the way.

How is Montessori different from a traditional classroom?

Children are active participants in their learning. Rather than moving every child through the same lesson at the same pace, Montessori lets children build skills through individualized work, repetition, exploration, and choice within clear limits.

Why do Montessori classrooms have mixed ages?

Mixed-age classrooms are central to Montessori. Younger children learn by observing older classmates, while older children strengthen their confidence, responsibility, and leadership by helping others.
